Circle Decontamination - Unit E

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £27,080.50 per year

Circle Health Group Decontamination is responsible for the provision of sterile equipment and instrumentation for use in surgical and interventional procedures in hospitals across the Southeast of England. The unit operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week with rotating shifts covering days and nights as required.

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Lead to join their team of staff in the xx department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover night shifts.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Proven experience of working in a sterile services unit and Endoscopy decontamination unit.
  • Knowledge of track and trace systems – electronic and manual
  • A working knowledge of machine testing, validation and operation
  • Experience of decontamination quality systems (ISO 13485)
  • Previous team leader/ supervisory experience.
  • Previous sterile services experience
  • Evidence of training in decontamination
  • Institute of Decontamination Certificate (IDSc) or NVQ Level 3 Decontamination
  • Computer literate
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • NHS Intuition
  • Supervisory qualification
  • Flexible endoscope decontamination experience

Duties of the role include:

  • To ensure all equipment is maintained to the required standard of safety
  • To routinely monitor all production records and quality control checks, documenting results where required
  • To be the prime contact for customers and deal with telephone enquiries and act in a solution focused manner
  • To resolve issues with equipment or instruments as they arise and report any matters to the Senior staff as they arise and within an email and within the shift email handover.
  • To maintain the accepted Health & Safety requirements for the protection of all members of the workforce, unit visitors, agency employees and all other stakeholders including the patient end user
  • To ensure adequate and pro-active stock levels are maintained at all times informing senior staff of any discrepancies as they arise
