Salary: £23,166.00 per annum

We have an opportunity for a Porter-Driver to join their team of staff in the Portering department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a 12hr shift pattern (predominantly nights) but would also include in the pattern 12hr day shifts on a Saturday and Sunday. 

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Front line customer facing experience.
  • Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
  • Full driving licence - must be able to drive manual cars.
  • Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.

Duties of this role include: 

  • Undertake driving duties as requested.
    Undertake a range of general and ad hoc portering tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement, monitoring CCTV system.
  • Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
    Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
    Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
    Comply with all relevant mandatory training.
