The Ridgeway Hospital in Swindon is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.
We have an opportunity for an Executive Director to join their team of staff in the Senior Management Team.
This is a full- time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.
You must be a fit and proper person under Regulation 5 of the Health and Social Care Act (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014. In addition to our own robust recruitment checks, the candidate will be required to sign a self-declaration form confirming the same as part of the appointment process.
Duties of this role include:
- Develop and lead the hospital’s annual strategic and operational plan, ensuring alignment with the wider organisational goals and CHG’s purpose and values.
- Act as the hospital’s Registered Manager, ensuring full compliance with all regulatory, legal, and governance standards.
- Drive operational excellence by ensuring safe, responsive, and well-led services, supported by data-driven planning and decision-making.
- Ensure that the safety and quality of patient care are embedded in all decisions, processes, and activities across the hospital.
- Champion continuous improvement and learning, using internal quality indicators, audits, and patient feedback to drive high performance.
- Oversee compliance with CQC (or equivalent) requirements and lead the response to regulatory inspections and reviews.
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in a senior leadership position within a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and healthcare standards (e.g. CQC).
- Degree level education/ post-graduate qualifications or equivalent
- Demonstrated track record in leading teams, driving improvement, and delivering financial and operational targets.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
