We have an opportunity for an experienced Supply Chain Coordinator to join our Procurement and Supply team, reporting directly to the Head of Supply Chain.


This position is offered on a full time, permanent basis and is based at our head office in London.

The Supply Chain Coordinator will have responsibility for the end to end replenishment process, from supplier requisition creation to receipt/putaway by 3rd Party Logistics Provider and for balancing product availability with optimised stock levels. They will be maitain the relationship with the IT platform provider, coordinating issue resolution to maintain system uptime.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Previous experience in supply chain inventory management and customer service
  • Operational experience of Sage / PeopleSoft or similar
  • Intermediate IT Literacy e.g. Excel, Inventory platform ( experience with Sage or PeopleSoft would be an advantage)
  • Strong Numeracy and literacy skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Team worker
  • Continuous improvement methodology
  • Tenacity, self starter & strong time management
  • Proactive problem solving
  • Previous experience in a healthcare environment (desirable)

Duties of this role include:

  • The warehouse channel provides a critical service, supplying more than 20% of the hospital product volume; the primary route of supply into the BMI hospital group. This is a hands-on operational role covering 2 elements of the supply chain service; maintaining warehouse stock and overseeing the upkeep of the Sage supply system which is used by the department and Finance team.
  • The job is pivotal in maintaining continuity of supply from 100 suppliers to all 55 BMI hospitals through managing and replenishing central warehouse stock and achieving high inbound and outbound service levels, critical to hospitals optimising their local stocks and maintaining high levels of patient satisfaction. This role ensures stock is purchased, available, issued and effectively fulfilled, dealing with issue resolution. The second element of the role ensures that the warehouse system performs correctly through liaison and support from the IT provider.
  • End to end efficiency, hospital order fulfilment and stock turn performance are the key deliverables of the role.
  • This is a hands-on operational role that works closely on a day to day basis with suppliers, hospitals and a 3rd party logistics provider. Strong contacts will be made with hospital Materials teams, Procurement and Finance functions.
  • The Consumables Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for balancing product availability with optimised stock level. This includes the management of back order, receipt discrepancies and the overall service and commercial performance of consumables inventory. Close working with the IT provider will maintain the warehouse system so if functions correctly for all users.
