Sterile Services Technician

Full Time - Permanent

*Potential Sign on bonus of £1000 available*

The salary for this role is £11.00 per hour for a Trainee, and starts at £11.28 per hour for qualified Sterile Services Technicians.

We have an opportunity for a Sterile Services Technician to join their team of staff in the Decontamination department in Aylesford. 

This is a Full Time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

Enhanced payments apply Monday-Friday at x1.25 for working early morning before 0700hrs, late evening after 2000hrs and x1.33 for nights and weekends

Post hours available for each position:

0600-1400 x2 Monday-Sunday

1400-2200 x2 Monday-Sunday

2200-0600 x2 Monday-Sunday

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Positive ‘can do’ attitude
  • Previous Experience is required
  • Some experience of working within a sterile services unit

Duties of this role include:

  • To provide a first-class decontamination sterile service to the operating department, clinical departments and relevant paramedical departments in accordance with HTM 01-01
  • To assist in the provision of decontamination, checking, assembly, packing, sterilisation and delivery of medical and surgical equipment, Endoscopes and sundry items to/for the customer
  • To maintain good working relationships with all stakeholders
  • To promote and maintain Health & Safety within the department
  • To ensure that adequate stock levels are maintained in working areas.
  • To ensure processes are followed as directed by the Senior Staff and in accordance with policies and procedures
